About me

Nulla dies sine linea - Pliny the Elder

My name is Martin Sosic and I am a computer scientist / software engineer / startup founder.
Not to be confused with Matija Sosic (but I get it if you do), who is my twin brother and does most of the projects with me.

I love thinking, learning, solving challenging problems, and creating (sometimes useful) things!

Projects

Some of the projects I am proud of:

  • Wasp - The innovative full-stack web framework.
  • Talkbook - My first startup: lead-gen tool for professional speakers.
  • edlib - C/C++ library for sequence alignment I wrote for master's thesis that beyond my expectations became one of the foundational tools in bioinformatics.
  • strong-path - Library for (very) strongly typed paths in Haskell.
  • hchess - My never-ending exploration of implementing chess in Haskell.
  • Mechanical keyboard I made from scratch (mostly).

Tech

While I try not to get too stuck on specific tech/tools and keep up with the times, here is a list of a few that I just love more than I should:

  • Emacs - My command center and lifetime DIY project (config).
  • Haskell - Still the best language I ever used.
  • Arch Linux - Keeps me sharp.

Other

Some other stuff I am excited about: startups, maths, competitive programming, clean code, software craftsmanship, calisthenics, philosophy, playing music, mechanical keyboards, gaming.
